Hi all,
Just started using SCVMM 2012 R2 and still getting to grips with it.
I'm also doing a Lync 2013 Enterprise deployment, for which I'll be deploying 24 servers so automating using SCVMM sounds like a good idea! :)
After reading the excellent article by Michael Green about Lync 2013 with Service Templates here:
http://blogs.technet.com/b/privatecloud/archive/2013/11/06/introducing-lync-service-templates.aspx
However the article is really about Standard edition deployments - which are normally single server installs.
My questions are:
- Is it worth deploying Lync as a service, on the basis that this is a one off install and won't be repeated?
- If so, how would you do it? In particular would you deploy all Lync roles as one service (FE Pools, SQL, file servers, Med pools, edge pools, OWAS etc) or group each role as it's own service instead?
Thanks,
Steve
