VMM Agent Shuffle...

All,

Would appreciate some adviceon an issue I am having.

I have TWO SCVMM 2012 environments.

The first is where is 2012 with no service pack vmm box is a 2008 R2.  This environment started life as a vmm 2008 R2 and was upgraded to 2012.  It has 4 stand alone hosts and 2 2-node clusters.  All is funtioning well.

I built the second vmm environment after SP1 was released.  I had been wanting to replace the vmm box with new hardware and since SP1 requires 2012 server, I took the opportunity to do it.

Here's my problem:  I am moving the hosts from the old to the new environment.  (I am doing it from the new box).  Everything seems to go well during the transfer (I see the tick box to reassociate the host with the new environment) but then it bombs because the agent needs to be updated.  SO......Do I update the agent manually, OR do I first boot (remove) the host from the old environment (will doing that remove the agent?) , then join it to the new one????  I see the update agent console icons in both environments, unfortunatley the are grey-out in both as well.  Advice appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

David
