Hi all, I have a VMM problem that I haven't dealt with before and am hoping someone can confirm the action I am going to take is the right thing to do. I use a physical server for our VMM 2012R2 UR9 system. There are three Library servers, one is located on the same server as the VMM instance. An 'Update Library' job runs every hour that gives a Warning: 20853 The self-signed certificate for computer vmm1.domain.com is either already expired or is about to expire within a month.
I can see in the certificates MMC, there's a cert in the Local Computer/Personal folder with a friendly name of: SCVMM_CERTIFICATE_KEY_CONTAINER, FQDN and it did expire.
The only side effect that I see is that I can't mount ISO files on a vm from this library server.
The message says to remove and add the server from VMM to get a new certificate.
I've worked on all kinds of server certificate issues in the past and they are sometimes not easy to deal with and I'm not exactly sure of all of the certificates that VMM uses and distributes.
Knowing that the VMM library server is also the VMM server, is it safe to just remove the local vmm1 library server from VMM and then just add it back? Or is there a different way to renew the library server certificate?
Any feedback would definitely be appreciated. Thanks.
